Sealife Response, Rehabilitation, & Research

This afternoon, WABS visited the SR3 (Sealife Response, Rehabilitation & Research) center in Des Moines, where we donated 12 pairs of brand-new Western Chief Women's rain boots for the volunteers and support staff who dedicate their time to rescuing and caring for seals in need.

And yes — we did get to meet the residents. All 11 baby seals currently at the facility. Safe to say, they lived up to every expectation.

The work SR3 does is quiet, unglamorous, and absolutely essential — wading into wet, messy conditions to give injured and vulnerable animals a second chance. The least we could do was make sure the people doing that work have dry feet.
